The birth-place of religions is believed to have originated in the Eastern hemisphere of this planet in ancient times. For centuries this Spiritual Wisdom and Divine Revelation of these ancient Eastern nations have either passed almost out of existence or at least fallen into decay. Ancient nations at the dawn of mankind, ancient nations like the Egyptians, the Hindus, the Greeks, the Chinese, etc., has been hidden from the younger people of this Earth. This ancient Spiritual Wisdom and its legacy has been jealously guarded by the wise men of the East. This Spiritual Knowledge and Wisdom has from time to time leaked out into the world and been the origin of countless religions, all of which, notwithstanding their hostile relationships, have yet sprung from the one Source.
There exists yet in the Earth today an oriental philosophy, the arcane wisdom of the East, and some of these teachings of which have now, under the name of Theosophy, for the first time in all the past ages only has been been presented to the world at large in the last two centuries. This guarded Spiritual Wisdom was kept from the vulgar and secular until the evolution of the human species reached a point where it was prepared to understand these ancient Spiritual Metaphysical truths. But with the advances made to our world, especially in the realm of science, the minds of contemporary mankind are today fertile areas of receptivity of these ancient Spiritual Truths which today like never before breaches the chasm existing between "Religion and Science". Man can now understand like never before what actually lies behind the Sacred texts of world religions, including Christianity, which has eluded him for millennia. For long ages this Spiritual Wisdom has been the heritage of only the more Spiritually advanced of the nations, or the elect of other less-evolved peoples who had struggled to a stage of progress beyond their brethren. These "Adepts" bound themselves to the strictest pledges of secrecy and vowed not to reveal this knowledge and power to the masses Spiritually unequipped to handle them ethically or morally until the "fullness of time" when mankind was deemed ready to take its next step of Soulish evolution. Until recently the races of mankind were judged "unfit" to receive this Spiritual Wisdom but in the last two hundred years this "lost light" is being restored to the masses of humanity like never before. That is both "good" and "bad" and we will later address.
There are many names for this "Secret Wisdom" of the ancients; being called such names as "esoteric philosophy", "secret doctrine", and even "occult science". Whatever name we may choose when speaking of the "love of Wisdom" or "Theosophy", it can no longer be said that it is "esoteric" or "secret" or "occult" once it has been given to the world at large.
Now it is important to take note that each of the world's religions embodies a different statement or expression of this arcane and ancient doctrine as given to different races and under different circumstances in all periods of time, and this was done in accordance with man's needs for such wisdom. This was done by the guardians of such wisdom from nation to nation as deemed appropriate and necessary as man rose in his Spiritual evolution as a species. There has always been a "secret philosophy" and it lines the pages of our Bible but is kept from such by the writers through various techniques we will see momentarily. Every true religion, Eastern or otherwise, has had a dual existence from the movement of its birth to the hour of its decay; an external, conventional aspect for the masses, embodying little more than a code of ethics, and giving a few general facts concerning the origin of the world and the destiny of man. But at the same time there exists an internal esoteric school, containing the real teaching of the science, from which the exoteric doctrine was extracted. Indeed it is a significant fact that all religious beliefs, when their outer garb or public superstition has been stripped off, and their naked form restored in its original purity, are found to embody identical doctrines. This is only explainable by postulating the existence of a system of wisdom from which all world religions have sprung, such a system at the same time affording a "key" to all of the various beliefs, and explaining the many allusions to a "secret school" which are to be found in the Sacred Books of all nations and scattered through thousands of volumes in every tongue.
In ages past, when peoples are different from our present race walked the Earth, greater in science, greater in art, greater in civilization, the one desire which held the human Soul was the unquenchable thirst for wisdom. Earthy desires held a back seat to the Soul's desire for Spiritual Wisdom. Unknown to us with out separation of Church and State the ancient nations saw no difference between science and religion. They fathomed the mysteries of creation, not only by analysis, but by Spiritual perception on a level that dwarfs our understanding today. We have lost so much it is a tragedy.
Our present humanity is the descendant of these ancient ones, who wisdom has been lost, their knowledge scattered to the winds, leaving only a few husks of their brilliant sciences. A few, remaining true to their Godlike natures, retained their purity and power, and vowed to restore mankind again to his true position as Divine ruler of this planet. They or their descendants still walk the Earth unnoticed and unknown by ordinary humanity today. Holding that everyone has latent in him all the power and greatness of his ancestors, and that any one who succeeds in purifying himself or his animal tendencies and nature may rise to the position of a god, they have never lost hope of success in mankind's restoration to the great Spiritual heights and knowledge from which he has currently fallen.
Almost all of our present day knowledge has come from the East. We have to thank the older oriental nations for by far the greater part of our information concerning astronomy, chemistry, geometry; and indeed, anything we at present known is but a development of the few seeds of wisdom sown among us by our Eastern brethren. This flood of light which has come our way has illuminated the origin of religions and in so doing made plain that there was at one time a single philosophy from which all later "creeds" have sprung. The records of the Eastern esoteric schools of Philosophy state that there was at one time such a universal system, and as evidence of their statement point to:
Cleared of their dross of public error, all religions will be found to embody in essence precisely identical teachings: Brahamanism, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Gnosticism, the philosophy of the ancient Egyptians, the Chaldeans, the Hebrews, the Babylonians, the Assyrians, the Greeks and all these systems, both ancient and modern, and the core religious dogmas of the above religions are more or less portions of the one arcane Secret Doctrine that at one time in the history of this planet united all of mankind in "one Spiritual Truth".
It is to the East we have to look for what remains of the primeval philosophy; for the guardians of the secret wisdom and the "keys" for its proper interpretation so necessary for restoring the "lost light". Owing to the fact that the masses tend to constantly materialize and "literalize" philosophical conceptions, to turn what are intended to be pure abstractions into concrete images, the necessity for periodically re-directing and reforming their religious ideas must be apparent, and we therefore find men coming forward down through history, generally from the East from age to age, focused upon purifying the "old religion", and starting it anew upon a more Spiritual basis. The necessity for maintaining this purity for as long a while as possible has led each great teacher to divide his teaching into "inner" and "outer" schools. So that we find in Egypt and in Greece the "Greater" and "Lesser Mysteries" of the temples, and in India the esoteric and exoteric philosophies; Buddha and Pythagoras teaching their direct disciples mysteries not revealed to the masses, and Jesus adopting a like course in the New Testament, just as Moses did with the elders and the people. In other words, there are "two levels" by which man is to both "see" and "understand" this ancient Spiritual Wisdom.
The teachings of these "inner schools" and these "Greater Mysteries" have always been identical no matter how far back you look or if you look to different ancient nations and their "Spiritual Wisdom"; although their nomenclature may have been varied, they have always been under the direct supervision of the same "idea " or central school of thought. The esoteric doctrines of any one religion will be found to be the same as those of all the others. That is why Buddhistic dogmas are in reality the same basically as those found in Christianity, Chaldean, or even the Egyptian religion. The ancient religious philosophy it upholds is to be found "hidden" under the glyph, allegory, figuration, metaphor, simile, similitudes, typifications, parables, myths, legends, fables, symbols, personifications, embodiments, and stories of every ancient major religion, as well as in the Sacred Books of each of its nations, distorted to various degrees, perhaps, but still there today. Without "training" the reader often does not recognize it; mistakenly taking such "symbolisms" for "literalisms" and thereby discounting quite often what he does not recognize and relegating it to the absurd. I surely have read enough Christian writers over the years to know that this is true. In spite of what we don't know or recognize since not possessing the "keys" to the recognition of this ancient Spiritual Wisdom that lies at the very heart of this metaphysical realm in which we live & the ancient Sacred writings that "conceal it", there yet is a common thread connecting all of these "Greater Mysteries" and "inner schools" and it is the very core of truth that lies hidden behind our "Jesus Story" when it is examined and interpreted correctly once one comes to the knowledge and possesses the "keys" for its correct interpretation.
Notice if you will that the Christ tells us that his mission in the Earth is to fulfill, not to destroy; to bring unity, not alone of religion with religion, and sect with sect, but of religion with science, and of philosophy with both. Bet Emet Ministries is unique at least in this, that while other factions cry aloud today that with them alone "truth" is to be found, the wise student and "truth-seeker" should rather seek to vindicate the truth of all, and, uniting them into one harmonious whole, to demonstrate a true Brotherhood of man which once existed and hopefully will again as we each do our small part to "break down the middle wall of partition" that separates the races and religions of the nations today since they have, for the most part, lost the "keys" to the proper interpretation of the Secret Wisdom contained in their nation's Sacred Books. Be not mistaken, our Christian Bible stands at the top of the list as the world's most misunderstood and misinterpreted book which has ever been written and given to mankind. It is time that the Bible be rescued from unintelligence and its true Spiritual Message regained and this can only be done in light of restored knowledge concerning the "keys" to the proper interpretation of the ancient myths, allegories, and symbols concerning the Sungods and goddesses, both male and female characterizations of "the Christ/Sophia" which are contained within them. We do this in this website by not only an exhaustive examination of these "keys" to correct interpretation of the ancient Esoteric Philosophy in our Bible but also by comparing the stories in our Bible which we have mistakenly been taught to interpret "literally" and "historically" with the same stories of the ancient nations and their Sacred Books which long preceded our Bible; these same stories and symbols which the ancients were always taught were to be understood "allegorically" and "metaphorically" and never "literally" as it our custom today. Only in this way will the reader and "truth-seeker" see for himself the waywardness of typical current Christian exegesis of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom which is yet contained in our Bible today. Restoring to our Bible this "correct interpretation" of this arcane Spiritual philosophy will go a long way in hastening the Soulish evolution of mankind or at least 2.5 billion of them. This, dear one, is God's plan all along; not a new one, but one forgotten and lost when viewed only with a "historical" and "literal" approach to the Christian Scriptures. The ancients both knew and understood that these "same stories" that we find in our Christian Bible today were "allegorical" expressions created out of necessity for a finite mind that expressed an infinite metaphysical reality which they as "fallen" and "incarnated Souls" found themselves. It is we in Christianity who don't know this; it is time for that to change and this Website is created to address that problem.
Our Bible is a metaphysical revelation taken from the ancient stories of the nations that existed long before Israel, Greece, or Rome. What is but a summary statement in our Bible, for example the limited number of Scriptures that address the "creation" is often addressed by the ancient nations in volume and volume of Spiritual writings totaling hundreds and hundreds of pages. Central to the ancient wisdom found in religion after religion in the ancient world is the concept of the "Divine spark" or seed buried within each person. This is later personified in the nations and their gods and goddesses; their "pagan Christs" as many call it today not possessing the "keys" to this most glorious picture of the Soul/Christ and its "crucifixion on the cross of matter". It was the purpose of the ancient mysteries to bring to life this "Divine spark" spark so that it would illuminate life on this Earth. This "Divine spark" was taught in almost every religion and Scared Book of the ancient world. This "Divine spark" was symbolized and represented by various figures at different times and in different places. You can find that "Divine Spark" represented by the various names of Horus, Orpheus, Dionysus, Mithra, Krishna, Adonis, Tammuz, Hercules, Jesus and so on. They were all "pagan" Christs which is the common term in use today to describe this Spiritual concept. Our "Jesus Story" is but another retelling of the metaphysical realties connected with these "pagan Christs" and our "Jesus Story" is but another personification and representation of these metaphysical realities in which our Soul is immersed on this plane of its present existence. The philosophers of the ancient world knew that these figures were symbolic, and not historical men. Roman Christianity changed this idea during the 2nd through the 5th century and in so doing out comes the "golden calf" of a presumed and supposed "historical" and "literal" Jesus Christ which, as stated, is but another allegorical story for the descent of this "Divine spark" into "matter" and humanity.
Some 2,000 years ago in the area of the eastern Mediterranean, the Divine Soul or "Divine spark" within was called the "Christ" (from Karest or Krist, Egyptian for the anointed mummy). The symbol of the mummy was used to symbolize the restriction of "matter" and its effects upon the descended Soul. That is why we see Osiris depicted in "white" which is representative of the "mummy" and the embodiment of the Soul in the "Spiritual denseness of matter". Early Christianity, in its pre-Roman manifestation, was a re-statement of the ancient wisdom. "...Christians of any intelligence during the first two centuries at least did not regard their movement as the bearer of the first light into the heathen darkness, but only the republication of very ancient truth."(Alvin Kuhn, The Shadow of the Third Century: A Revaluation of Christianity,. Academy Press, 1949. p.27). You study into the earliest history of Gnostic Christianity will verify this fact beyond any intelligent doubt. Kuhn quotes Augustine and Eusebius to support his claim and any serious study of the pre-Latin Church Fathers will do likewise.
Behind what we have mistakenly been taught is a "literal" and "historical" reality concerning a Jewish Jesus Christ, lays the Divine Revelation that "the indwelling god in humanity is himself being brought to birth within the womb of mankind. Each individual is gestating a divinity within the deeps of his own nature. Christianity has fervently exhorted us to look into the empyrean to find the unapproachable God. All the while the infant deity slumbers unheeded within the heart. Christianity has largely nullified the force of St. Paul's almost frantic cry to us: "Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is within you?" (Alvin Kuhn, The Lost Light: An Interpretation of Ancient Scriptures, Academy Press, 1940. pp.44-47). This is the "Divine spark" within the animal body which houses our Soul. As you can begin to see the ancients framed this "Descent of the Soul" through allegorical and symbolic language and used the disguise of personification, allegory, and metaphor as seen in the characterizations of Horus, Orpheus, Dionysus, Mithra, Krishna, Adonis, Tammuz, Hercules, and Jesus in depicting this metaphysical "fall" or "descent" of this "Divine spark" into "matter" and humanity. The whole of the "Horus Story" or our "Jesus Story" is but a parable of the "descent, life, death, and re-ascent" of the Soul in relationship to material existence. This is very "heart" of this ancient Spiritual Wisdom which was expressed by the ancient Spiritual Masters through allegory, metaphor, symbology, simile, parable, etc. I love the quote from Plato in this regard: "Man is a god in an animal body".
The gods and goddesses of primeval religions were but the personification of the active manifest cosmic powers, cosmic energies, faculties, and very organs of God Himself in His self-expression through material existence. One you grasp this very important "key" then not only does the ancient writings of comparative religions "open" for your proper understanding but you come to see that Nature was God's body, elemental forces and "Living energies" were the very agents of God's operative economy. Ancient Egypt called these "Living Energies" that comprise the whole of God of the cosmos as the "neteru". We will look at these "neteru" and the ancient Egyptian understanding of these "Living Energies" which comprise the totality of the "One God" in detail very soon. God, the ancients understood, is "One", but also a "Unity of Many" parts or "attributes" through which He acts and manifests throughout the cosmos.Universal consciousness and Mind was God's thinking faculty and ultimate good was God's Spiritual heart. This is the "Logos" or "Christ" of which we read in the Bible, not a lone "historical person" by any shape of the imagination as Rome will espouse. The ancient system of wisdom thought it not blasphemy to delineate the organic structure of deity through the medium of personification and allegory in order to explain to finite and limited human grasp the very cause and nature of the world. Reverence was not withheld from even the lowest instrumentation of God and His method of manifestation in Nature. The ancients deemed it not dishonoring to deity to recognize His being in all things. The ancients understood that there is one Mind, one Law, one Principle, one Substance in the Universe, and all that exists "lives" and experiences a "consciousness" in various degrees of its evolvement and manifestation and is "one" with all that there is. All that exists is but a "self-expression" of God in one way or the other. They saw God in Nature, and not as abstracted from nature. And these same ancient Spiritual sages studied Nature as the living garment of God's immanence" (Ibid., p. 44-45). It is here they discovered that man is but a "microcosm" of the "macrocosm" and that man is made in the image of God.
Many cultures compare the Creator to the Sun. The Sun pours out its life giving rays and "life energy", as does the Creator. In order to exist, all life absorbs a tiny amount of this "life-giving" energy from the Sun. The Creator was therefore likened to a Spiritual Sun, or the invisible Sun within all things. Therefore we now understand why the ancients depicted symbolically God through the various personifications of solar gods such as Ra, Apollo, and Christ. These are again not "literal" but figurations of metaphysical realties of the "Living Energy" that exists at the core of all existence; both visible and invisible.
The ancients taught that God has projected a ray of His own life and Living Energy into humans. "In man the divine seed is the Christos" (Ibid., p. 46). These same ancients knew and understood that "the cosmic God is hardly an object of worship by humanity; but rather the very segmented portion of infinite Being that is tabernacled within the flesh of mortals is the actual divinity assigned to receive the attention and homage of mankind" (Ibid.). We speak here of the "Christ within" and not the "Christ/God" without. God is both "unknown" and "known"; and that part of God given to mankind is the indwelling "Krst/Karest/Christ" within; symbolized again in the "Christs" of previous nations as both "masculine Christs/Sungods" and feminine goddesses who are all symbolisms of the Sophia. Christ and Sophia are "one" making the whole of the incarnated God in "matter" and in humanity.
1 Cor 2:7 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: (KJV)
Col 1:26-27 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (KJV)
In Plato's Timeaus and other ancient documents twelve junior gods, who were sparks of the eternal Flame of cosmic mind, came to earth to lift up humans from their animal nature to realize their divine souls. "Our earthly task, according to St. Paul, is to link together the two natures in 'one new man', bringing to an end in a final 'reconciliation' 'the battle of Armageddon', the aeonial warfare between the carnal mind of the animal and the spiritual mind of the god."(Ibid., p. 90). This is the very "heart" of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom. St. Paul said:
2 Cor 13:5 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (KJV)
All of life and religion is much more than a mystical feeling of life's experience. Religion serves a purpose; it was in origin a series of codes, principles, practices, and rituals given by the demi-gods to early mankind to awaken the slumberous genius of our actual divinity hidden within our animal bodies and nature (Ibid., p. 91). It is essential knowledge for humans to press forward their Spiritual evolutionary development from the animal nature to the divine nature and this is done through knowledged and practice of the truth; not a lie! Ignorance and foolishness almost banished this knowledge from all humanity and had not the ancients buried this ancient Spiritual Truths as they were murdered in the millions at the hands of Rome then the world today would not have this ancient "light" for our Soul which has enlightened the way for humanity once again in this last two hundred years. Our present business is to struggle to regain that lost paradise of knowledge once possessed by the ancients which is not taught in "literalistic" Christianity today. We must work again to awaken our Soul to the recognition of our high cosmic mission, and revivify the decadent forms of a once potent religious practice, based on restored Divine knowledge and the ancient Sacred Wisdom. This wonderful concept of the god within is well stated in The Litany of the Sun, inscribed on the Tombs of the Kings of ancient Thebes:
"The Kingly Osiris [one of the many symbolical representations of the indwelling Christ] is an intelligent Essence. His Limbs conduct Him; His 'Fleshes' open the way for Him. Those who are born from him create Him. They rest when they cause the Kingly Osiris to be born.
"It is He who causes them to be born .It is he who engenders them. It is he who causes them to exist. His Birth (the formation of the Christ within mankind) is the Birth of Ra in Amenti [Amenti is this physical incarnational world, also called Hades and Hell in Scripture...THINK!]. He causes the Kingly Osiris to be born; He causes the birth of Himself." (Mead, G.R.S. The Gnostic Crucifixion, London, 1907, p.61)
Again, man is a "god gestating" in the body of an animal. Plato got it right. We are a Spiritual consciousness and a "Divine Spark" who has "fallen to Earth", "fallen into matter" (Rome called it a "fall into sin"...thanks again to Rome for messing it up). Man is this Spiritual consciousness who has been "crucified on the cross of matter" in order to "go to school"; a necessary requirement for the ultimate graduation of our Soul and its Spiritual evolution to perfection and completeness. Earth is but a final stop and destination so necessary for our graduation as taught by the ancients.
Again, amazingly, Paul said the same thing:
Gal 4:19 19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (KJV)
It must be understood that no human being is "God", capital "G", and no human can ever be God. Using the Sun as an analogy, we can see that yet there is a tiny bit of Sun energy in plants and living creatures. No one in their right mind would claim that they were the Sun because they had this tiny Sun and "Divine Spark" within .Similarly, there is a tiny bit of God energy in humans, but woe to anyone who thinks that he is God. The ancient Scriptures talk about the Soul, this "Divine Spark", being trapped in the prison of the body; a body of Spiritual death from which a "rebirth" is required while we yet tabernacles within this animal body. The ancients understood that man cannot escape his obligation to the animal who is lending us his body for our own advancement. We, as Souls, came hither to transfigure these brute bodies. (Ibid., p. 147).
According to Plato and the ancients, Hades was not a place of punishment for departed human souls. Before Rome and its "radical reinterpretation" of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom "Hades, hell, Sheol, the pit, the abyss, Amenta, the Underworld, the Netherworld, etc., were all ancient terms for this physical Earth, which serves as the realm of the "dead" for this descended Divine Spark and Divine Soul/Christ. That is why the ancients said that both Soul and Christ are "crucified on the cross of matter" which stupefies Spiritual awareness. That is why we read as Paul says:
Gal 2:20 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (KJV)
Yes, allegorically speaking, God gave Himself for us that we might "live". Yes, allegorically speaking, God was "crucified in matter" for you and me so we might have "conscious life" and "life abundantly. Understood metaphysically as it should be and was by nation after nation for thousands of years up until Rome "radically reinterpreted the ancient Spiritual Wisdom between the 2nd through the 5th century, these gods and goddesses, as personified Living Energies, all "descended into matter", all were "crucified on crosses of matter (the crucifixion understood by the ancients as being the intersection of Living Energy into virginous "matter"), and therefore were said allegorically to have come to die of a cross as they "fell into matter" and "descended into matter" in order that we mortals might live. "Death", then, is in reality no death at all; but rather an allegorical depiction of a transition from one state to another. When we as humanity have the right understanding, then we can realize that it is our incarnation duty to "birth the god within us" and thus uplift the Earthly existence of our Soul in order that in our Earthly experience be fulfilled:
Eph 4:13 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: (KJV)
As long as people are ignorant of this ancient Spiritual Wisdom hidden in supposed "literal" passages in their Bibles and likewise ignorant of their Divine purpose, the gods and goddesses are dead, and this Earth has become in reality their Hades or the underworld for these gods and goddesses who "descended into darkness" and "into matter". When we awaken to the Divine Soul/Christ within, often called "being born from above" or "born again", we experience the true resurrection from the dead and in so doing bring our Soul to life, and in the words of St. Paul "Death is swallowed up in victory." Amazingly, this is to be accomplished and experienced before we experience the biological death of the body. Again, we got it just backwards from Rome; but that was on purpose as your studies into these areas will someday reveal. Hell as a place of punishment in an after-life is simply a teaching of repression, widely used by the early Roman Churches to control mankind through fear and ignorance. A just God does not deal out eternal punishment; especially when it dawns on you that you are this very "god" incarnated in an animal body. Again, allegorically, these punishments believed erroneously to be a "hell" are depictions of the Soul failure to master the animal nature as depicted by the ancients and which is so totally misunderstood today. The worst "punishments" we face are in this life. If we do not nurture the Divine Soul here and now, we punish ourselves by not achieving our true Spiritual potential.
An understanding of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom gives a correct understanding of Judgement. Kuhn, in his The Lost Light: An Interpretation of Ancient Scriptures, states that the ancients believed that judgement occurs here and now on this earth plane of existence. He states: "Neither above man with the angels, nor below him with the beasts, does moral responsibility reside. It belongs solely in the kingdom of man, who is poised, the only creature in evolution so placed, on the two arms of the balance between mind and matter. Man on the horizon is not only nailed on the cross of matter; he is being weighed on the scales of the balance, to see if his heart is so spiritualized as to be light as a feather! Man's heart against a feather, and his fate hanging thereon" (p. 481). Now you know why I chose to put the weighing of the heart and its Egyptian image as the top icon on this website. The view that there is a "Once only Day of Judgement", to occur at an unknown time, abrogates human responsibility. So likewise does the Roman Christian dogma that "we get away with it" due to the supposed death of a "literal" and "historical" Jesus which can be shown to be a tragic misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom and its allegories of the "god within". Such a Roman doctrine of a "once only Day of Judgment" causes unjustified fear, or a "drink and be merry tomorrow we die" approach to life. The symbolism of the ancient scriptures shows that man is the author of his destiny and is judged by his own actions. The balance of justice and judgement is totally dependent upon mankind, and he must take responsibility for his actions. Humans can no longer afford to pass the moral buck.
So we see that this "Divine Spark", this Divine Soul/Christ "falls" to Earth and incarnates in human beings. Amazingly, this is "the Lucifer", the light bringer, the Christ being "incarnated" in coming to Earth to be the Bishop of our Souls. The Divine Soul becomes trapped in the animal body says the ancients, and it is very easy for it to be overwhelmed by the animal nature .When then happens the Divine Soul becomes bestial, beastly, or as more familiar "satanic". This is the true meaning of the Beast 666 or Satan; Satan again being but an "adversary". But Christianity created a "literalized being of pure evil called "Satan" who opposed God with a separate origin from God and an eternal cosmic war was created. In reality there is no such thing if "all is within God". It's a perpetual puzzle to me and other "thinking believers" and Christians why the all powerful God tolerates absolute evil if we are to buy into the Christian Satan dogma. But it is a problem created by Christians themselves and a problem that is totally absent and foreign to the ancient Spiritual Wisdom. God is absolute, beyond good and evil. "Good" and "evil" are terms that apply to the human plane of existence; both are necessary if we are to grow Spiritually by learning to choose the "good" over the "non-good" or "evil". This is a Spiritual process of experience. Such is love at its deepest core and reveals through such progressive choices made by mankind. Killing, stealing, lying and so on are wrong and not to be advocated. But holding a view of the existence of absolute evil leads to the persecutions and intolerance that are all too prevalent in Christian history where the stronger side "defines" the adversarial position of another as "evil" and uses this as an excuse to exterminate them since being defined by them as "Satanic". The Divine Soul needs the animal nature in order to progress Spiritually. It needs an opponent to wrestle with so that it can develop its powers. Christianity has demonstrated over these last two thousand years that it does not understand this dynamic process, and thereby makes it virtually impossible for the Divine Soul to achieve its evolutionary task due to its "radical reinterpretation" of the doctrines and dogmas of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom which again robs man of his personal responsibility for Spiritual evolution in this animal body which is given a "free ride" with such dogmas as vicarious atonement; a dogma not found in the ancient Spiritual Wisdom nor in Judaism for that matter.
In order to come to the truths that lie behind our "literalized" Christian Scriptures it is important to go beyond the presumed idea of an historical Jesus so that we can get to the real meaning of Christianity and the ancient wisdom. There is no hard proof of any works that were written when Jesus was supposed to be alive. This is a major problem worthy of your serious study. God was supposed to have appear as a man 2,000 years ago, yet no one in history, either Roman, Jewish, Greek, or otherwise for that matter, bothered to write a thing about it at the time! All we have today is some rather crude "forgeries" that are the laughing stock of the modern scholars who point to them as but clumsy attempts of forgery by the earliest Christians who were desperate in debates with their opponents to prove the historical existence of a non-historical event. Paul (64-68AD) makes no mention of an historical Jesus, and if anyone was to do so you expect it to be Paul. As Christianity was the religion for the Age of Pisces, it is not surprising that its origins are surrounded in mystery and astronomy as well as the personified path of the Sun which we mentioned earlier is the symbol of the Living Energy of the cosmos which "incarnated into matter". Simply said, early Christian history can be divided into two camps: one who taught a historical saviour that is represented by the uninitiated and uneducated masses, while the other knows for certain that the only Christ is the Christ "within"; this camp being the other as classified by "initiates" of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom otherwise known as the Gnostics. Again we have the mystery of all mysteries before us; the "outer mysteries" of "literalism" and the "inner mysteries" of the true Spiritual reality behind the shadow of the "real". Christianity sowed confusion by losing the distinction between inner and outer teachings for over 1,800 years at present.
There is no problem in proving the existence of various people from ancient times, such as Plato, Aristotle, Julius Caesar, and so on. One would expect that there should not be a problem in proving the existence of one greater than these but there sure is! Because there is so much controversy over an historical Jesus we are entitled to approach the question with a healthy skepticism. Ironically, and think on this, Kuhn in his Lost Light, p. 240, makes you think by making the telling observation that the further away we get from the alleged Jesus, the greater is claimed to be the knowledge of him. This is the reverse in cases of historical people. Real people are best known during their own lives, and as time passes memories fade and facts get distorted .In the first century Jesus was an airy and ethereal figure, yet centuries later people could describe his appearance, moods, the color of his eyes, and motives in meticulous detail! One is entitled to probe the alleged historical reality and only if you do will you ever come to the reality and truth not only behind the "historical Jesus" but the "keys" to the ancient Spiritual Wisdom that man is a "god" in an animal body.
The first Christian Scriptures were based on the ancient Spiritual Wisdom and we find them with Marcion's Gnostic "First" New Testament held sacred by the earliest "Chrestians" around 150 A.D. Over the next couple of centuries the "literalizing Christians" destroyed the original manuscripts of these Gnostic Chrestians in order to hide the true origins of their "replacement religion" and "radical reinterpretation" of the ancient Wisdom. Gerald Massey in Ancient Egypt the Light of the World has shown that the "Jesus Story" is a retelling of the story of Horus, the prototype saviour god. Horus, again, is but an allegorical representation and personification of the "Descent of the Soul/Christ" into "matter"; the "Christ within". This prototype had different names throughout the ancient world as mentioned above. The name Jesus can be traced to the ancient Egyptian name "Iusa", which means "God the son, the prince, the heir". There are some twenty or more figures bearing the cognitive name Jesus (Joshua, Jesse, Hosea, Isaiah, Isaac, Esau, Josiah, Joash, Jehoaz, Job, Jonah, Joel and others) in the Old Testament and outside of it (Ibid., p. 587). Pictures of Jesus as a young bearded man clearly originate from Serapis, a Graeco-Egyptian saviour god. Blavatsky has shown that "Chrestian" was the name given to initiates in ancient Greece, long before the advent of the religion called Christianity.
Christianity had to promote impossible events in order to activate faith and belief over reason. Ignorance and a desire to pander to the masses by Christianity caused the ancient wisdom to be distorted. Instead of interpreting the ancient mythos symbolically, the Christians took the mythos literally. They believed in a literal virgin birth, in the breaking of the laws of nature, in corpses coming to life, and so on. Tertullian, an early Church Father startles us by saying in print: "I believe because it is impossible." It is faith, not reason, that can accept impossibilities.
The power of the Divine essence "within" is a truly liberating concept. It means that humans are masters of their destiny and cannot be belittled when the truth is known. We have to realize and awaken to our Divine nature. This is a majestic and uplifting task. Political Christianity was hell-bent on placing people in religious bondage and did so through the perpetuation of "fear" and "ignorance" through the "radical reinterpretation" of the ancient Spiritual Wisdom and its Divine Concepts; therefore they did their utmost to destroy the ancient truth. Christianity introduced the concept of sin to disempower the general population, and the Church monopolized all religious power. Thanks to writers such as Massey and Kuhn we can now understand the awesome truth of the ancient wisdom and expose the deceits of repressive Christianity. It is now the time to let the true light shine, and dispel eighteen centuries of superstition, idolatry and murky gloom.
