For some of the new readers of Bet Emet Ministries the topic of this article might be alarming if not troublesome. I want to speak about "proof-texting" in the writing of the New Testament; in particular when it comes to recording "fulfilled Messianic prophecy." When I began to study this area of Biblical studies many years ago as an ordained Pastor to say I was alarmed at what I began to see and uncover is an understatement. But after a couple of years of such study and as my studies expanded beyond the falsification and corruption of the Hebraic "messianic prophecy" in our Christian Bibles and spread into other areas of study like Gnosticism, Hermeticism, the ancient Egyptian Religion and Metaphysics I began to see the big picture and felt so much "better" about the New Testament Jesus and the Divine Spiritual Truths that I found were cleverly hidden and concealed behind these clumsy attempts to forge "fulfilled prophecy" when reading my Bible as a supposed "literal" and "historical" account of this Jesus Christ as we conditioned to read and interpret our New Testament. This will all come into focus when you get enough parts of this "theological puzzle" to see it for yourself so for the present just so relax and don't be alarmed but listen to what is being said next.
Not every "prophecy" in the New Testament is "Messianic" even though it is presented in such a fashion.
Not every "fulfillment" of Messianic prophecy in the New Testament is a "fulfillment of Messianic prophecy" even if presented as such!
In fact the vast majority of "fulfilled prophecies" concerning Jesus as recorded in the New Testament are "NOT MESSIANIC" at all.
Now before you think that I am mistaken or crazy all I ask is that you give me a chance to prove this to you beyond any doubt and show you things about the Bible we have inherited by Rome that you have never seen before.
Answer for yourself: I can hear many of you say: "How can that be? I have a Bible that is supposed to be a faithful translation from the Hebrew Scriptures with the quotes of Hebrew Scriptures in the New Testament on almost every page that shows me that these passages are a "fulfillment" of the Hebrew Scriptures so how can I say that "somehow" they are not 'fulfillments' after all"?
That is exactly what I once reasoned and in a second you will see clearly what I am saying about these supposed "fulfilled" Messianic prophecies in our Christian Bible. What the typical Christian does not know at the present is that those responsible for the translation of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek changed and altered multiple and numerous Hebrew Scriptural texts in order to write into the Hebrew Scriptures their own sect's religious beliefs and did so in the Greek translation of the Prophets and the Writings. This was done in order that the Essenes of Alexandria, Egypt, would have their own "Divine" book from God that would tell the Greek speaking world that "they" were correct in their beliefs about the "Godman" and that the Greek speaking world needed to accept these same Essene religious beliefs since they supposedly came from God! Such an idea was carried over into this Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures unknown to the Greek speaking world of the 2nd century B.C.E.
There is only one problem!
In this corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures by the Essenes previous Hebrew Scriptures and prophecies were altered, changed, added to, deleted, and combined; a host of literary techniques were used by them to destroy the Divine revelation that Moses, David, Solomon, and the Prophets had preserved up to that point concerning the hoped for descendent of King David who was believed to once again return in a later day to be the salvation of the Jewish people as had King David previously. In so doing a host of "literalized" Hebrew Scriptures were inoculated with personified Astro-theology and this mixture was included among the pages of these falsified Greek passages and lost to the non-Hebrew speaking world by such literary devices is the Jewish concept of the "human messiah". The "human messiah" in the Hebrew Jewish Scriptures was now transformed into a Cosmic-Solar Godman that has little if anything to do with the human messiah prophesied for generations to the Jewish people. Now few know this has happened to the Hebrew Scriptures carried over into our Christian Bibles because great efforts have been expended not only by these Essenes to cover such corruptions of the Hebrew texts but also by the later Greek and Latin/Roman Church Fathers who were themselves also involved in a form of "literalized" Sun-worship since they were as well instructed by these same Essenes and subsequently adopted similar religious beliefs that are only reinforced by this corrupted Greek Old Testament of Essene Origin. Later these falsified prophecies and verses will be completely lifted out of context by these later Gentile Fathers and redactors of the New Testament and the "literalized" God-man myth is perpetuated not only in the Scriptural texts that make up our Christian Old Testaments but by the quotes of them carried over into our New Testaments. All the while the Rabbis and Jews of Palestine knew the difference; their Hebrew Scriptures were safeguarded and remained basically unchanged while the Greek world is given the corruptions of these prior Hebrew Scriptures as "Divine Revelation." And later you and I go into a Christian Book store and buy a Bible that we think is faithful to the Bible that a Jew like this Jesus would have used and read and simply is not! Nothing could be further from the truth and we never know it as Christians who only set in the pews of our Churches and hear sermon after sermon read from these forged texts never knowing the truth about the Hebrew Scriptures and their corruptions which we carry in our Christian Bibles. One thing is for sure and that is that the orthodox Jews of today KNOW IT. Sadly too few reach out to the Gentile Christian Church to tell us; having learned by the tragic history of their ancestors and their ashes down through history that such attempts led only to their deaths and the deaths of their families. I was lucky enough in my years of study to run across this information and believe that it is of such an important nature that all Christians should be told the truth. I could not believe it when uncovering this deception and only after encountering such alarming news in several books read over basically a year was I compelled to begin to check out the matter for myself in an attempt to defend my Christian birth faith against such charges since being an ordained Pastor on a large mega-church staff in Dallas, Texas. What I would uncover over the next two years would lead to my resignation as a Pastor at a this mega-church in Dallas and would be the impetus to found Bet Emet Ministries which in Hebrew means "House of Truth". Now the information I uncovered is presented on these various websites for the readership of Bet Emet and other truth seekers. The relevance of such information is earth-shattering; no longer will we look to a false messiah and "literalized" Cosmic-God man for our Spiritual salvation but can look to the true Christ who is no longer "externalized" from us but rather to the only Christ which has ever been given mankind, the "indwelling Christ" taught by the true Gnostic Paul and not the later one created by Rome that taught their forged Scriptures in their Bible given to the world in the fourth century.
In fact, and this is a sad thing to say, most if not almost all of the "fulfilled prophecies" recorded in the New Testament are purposeful misquotes of the Hebrew Scriptures, purposeful mistranslations of the Hebrew Scriptures, a collection of Hebrew passages take completely out of context and made to apply to this New Testament Jesus regardless if they were intended to refer to such a person or not. As if that is not bad enough many of these "fulfilled prophecies" are simply made up out of thin air and are just created lies made to appear "religious" which often have very catch introductory phrases attached as "thus being fulfilled by the Prophet...". But to the reader that does not posses competency with the true Hebrew Scriptures and the Jewish Bible in it's original language before it was corrupted in translation into the Greek by these Essenes then this information is not only "new" but "startling" and almost "unbelievable" to say the least! That is until you do your own study. It is almost unbelievable and will be until you see these original Hebrew texts compared, one by one, over and over again with their Greek and English counterparts and in so doing it will only be a short time until the scope of such deception became alarmingly apparent to yourself. Tears will flow and hearts will break at what you will find in light of a life lived before God "believing in untruths" about this Jesus as the historical Christ. The harsh reality will hit you like a mack truck; that you have spent most of your Christian life in idolatry and blasphemy of YHWH and never knew it because a "literalized" Astro-theological and Cosmic godman was given to you in your Christian Bibles instead of the truth about "the Jewish messiah and Christ". This is the Essene-Christian legacy to which we have fallen and not know it; that is until we die and find out the truth when we come face to face with YHWH. But then it is too late to do anything about the idolatry and blasphemy that such corruptions of the Hebrew Scriptures has submitted us to without our knowledge and understanding.
Answer for yourself: Have you ever heard of this before now?
Of course not. The reasons are many. First of all the Bibles we Christians and followers of Jesus carry are forged and not truthful to the Hebrew Scriptures in hundreds of places. But no one ever told us this simply because they never studied the Hebrew intently or ever compared "line upon line and precept upon precept" as Isaiah the Prophet instructs us. I am not speaking of the innocent varieties of interpretations of selected passages or minor translation mistakes in our Bibles. If such errors of which I speak were only minor in theological scope I would not be writing these articles or devoting my life to such an endeavor. I am speaking of the major theological agendas that went into the purposeful corruption and alteration of the Hebrew Scriptures when they were translated into the Greek by the Essenes of Alexandria, Egypt, and later by the Greek and Latin Fathers who continued in this path with further alterations and corruptions to the Hebrew Scriptures and the later English translations and "reinterpretations" of them which we find today in both our Old and New Testaments.
Be not mistaken about this: if corrupted Hebrew texts are taken from the forged Greek texts are later quoted in the New Testament then we still end up with falsehoods in the New Testament. Understand clearly that the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with such lies and falsehoods no matter what emotions you might have when reading them. Your emotions have misled you and you have been innocently taught to attach your love and emotion to untruths instead of "the truth". We end up as religious Pavlof's dogs conditioned to respond with emotion to falsehood instead of truth and all the while God knows the difference; but we don't! Such is misdirected love toward God!
Understand that when you corrupt the Hebrew Scriptures with a "theological agenda" as did the Essenes then any readers of these falsified Greek Scriptures that are not acquainted with how the true Hebrew Scriptures were first written, read, and interpreted will fall into deception when reading these fraudulent translations as we have them in Christianity today. Later when again these forged Greek Old Testament Scriptures are translated into English and again having not the skills required to read Hebrew then you automatically fall into more deception when reading the English Old Testament as taken from this corrupted Greek translation and these theological errors are only perpetuated by the quotes from these corrupted Old Testament texts when found repeated in the New Testament. Then Sunday after Sunday were are indoctrinated over and over again in our lives with untruths never knowing the difference. THINK! Lastly when all the quotes for these previously forged English Old Testament texts are repeated in the New Testament then many of the verses and supposed "fulfilled" prophecies are nothing more than further corruptions and untruths, but again you don't know this because you again most likely lack the skills to read Hebrew or don't posses a Hebrew-Jewish Bible like the Stone Edition Tanakh that can show you these corruptions. Besides that you were never taught to even consider the idea that your texts might be flawed being constantly indoctrinated with the idea of the Bible being "inspired, infallible, and inerrant" over and over again in your Christian walk. You can "click" on the link and go toArtScroll and obtain one; I highly recommend that you do so and begin to compare these "Messianic prophecies" for yourself to see what I am saying. Or better yet, try to obtain Lillian Freudman's acclaimed book Antisemitism in the New Testament and follow her page by page and look them up and compare them one by one. I once was not aware of these corruptions in my Bible to this degree; that is until I began the most serious study of my life as a Pastor and after two years of laborious study studying great books like Mrs. Freudman's Antisemitism in the New Testament and a host of others I was almost devastated at what I uncovered. I realized that I was not a follower of the message of this "Jewish Christ" at all; rather I was a follower of a "literalized" cosmic Superman that never existed outside of the personification of the Sun and its path through the Zodiac along with the stars in the Heavens. This fact is presented in detail on other websites in order that the reader can trace such a theological invention from start to finish. But such study if for the "seasoned" student and "truth-seeker"; way beyond the level of such studies presented here. But save this link for later because at this level of our study you are not ready for such "meat" until you master the "milk" and our Bibles and in so doing see the "hidden truths" that lay behind our inherited "literal" and "historical" approach to our "Jesus Story". Only later as your studies advance to include such studies in Gnosticism, Hermeticism, and ancient Egyptian Religion is one ready to tackle such challenging materials in my opinion. Only now, in seeing such evidences presented in this opening website for yourself can you be fully persuaded, as I was, that we have followed many lies and not the truth concerning this New Testament Jesus. You have to be persuaded that you don't have "the truth" before you will begin to look for it. This is where we must start if we ever hope elevating the level of our studies to include the hidden ancient Spiritual Wisdom and Metaphysics hidden beneath our "Jesus Story"; it is here we find the truth that was kept from us by the Alexandrian Essenes and Rome that took the "Christ" from us and catapulted him into the Heavens; whose access could be attained only through the doors of the Roman Church and their "brand of salvation" which defines the Dark Ages.
The first thing you need to do to prepare yourself for such enlightening studies is to purchase a Stone Edition Tanakh or JPS Hebrew/English Bible to see these alterations in the Hebrew Scriptures as compared to our English Bibles for yourself. Only then can you begin to compare line upon line and precept upon precept" the numerous passages in the Hebrew Bible with our supposedly "faithful" translation of them as found in our Old Testament and New Testament today. You will quickly come to see in your own studies that "faithfully translated" is not a term that can be used to describe such mistranslation of the Hebrew Scriptures as we have today in our Christian Bible and their similar distortion as carried over by quotes in our New Testament. Next you only need find the time to compare these "Messianic verses in context" with those in your English Christian translations to see these things for yourself. That is why Freudman's book is so great; it carries you through this page by page and you see the evidence for yourself once armed with the Hebrew and a Greek Old Testament as well. All that is needed now is a good old KJV to trace from the Greek to the English Bible and there you see the progressive distortion and corruptions of Messianic prophecy for yourself. All the "thus being fulfilled" passages in the world cannot save such purposeful mistranslations and misquotations from the garbage bin. If you were to start with the Hebrew Scriptures and trace their translation into the Greek in the LXX, known as the Septuagint, and then their further and later mistranslation of them as found in the many and varied Christian Old Testaments and even the later quotes of them in the various versions of the New Testament as well then and ONLY then could you see fully this "path of corruption" as I have detailed above. I have done such studies over ten years now and the results of such investigative study are in the websites of Bet Emet Ministry. Because of this discovery it is important that we as followers of the New Testament Jesus as the personified "Krst/Christ" understand how "proof-texting" was used by the writers of the New Testament to create "fulfilled prophecy" about this Jesus when it reality it was never "fulfilled prophecy" in the first place and had nothing to do with a supposed historical first century person. At the very core of this "purposeful" mistranslation of these Hebrew Scriptures we find a religious agenda at work where the "Faith of Jesus", as practiced in Judaism, has been altered to evolve into a "replacement religion" that is solely based upon a "Faith in Jesus" an the theology created around his supposed identity for mankind's salvation before God. Judaism has maintained this falsification of their Hebrew Scriptures in both the Greek and English versions of the Old Testament and their later use in the New Testament as we have them today and has done so now for almost 2,000 years. You should expect and demand that your Christian Bibles contain "uncorrupted Hebrew messianic prophecies" but never knowing that they do not then this goes beyond notice by the vast majority of Christians unless they stumble across it most accidentally like myself. Again this information is not intended to hurt anyone or destroy anyone's faith; rather, it is intended to ground one's faith "in the truth" and not fantasy. Wherever you find truth you find God; wherever you find deception and lies you do not! Never forget this!
If what I say is "fact", and it is, and if it can be proven, and it can, then don't you want to know the truth about God, His messiah, and the New Testament "Jesus Story" before you die?
There was a man who was waling through the forest and comes across a tree. He decided to shoot an arrow at the tree. On the tree is a target, as is used for target practice. Right in the middle of the bull's eye, exactly dead center of this bull's eyes is an arrow. There are no bad shots around the area of this bull's eye, there is only this one shot and it is a perfect hit right in the middle of the bull's eye! The man continues his walk through the forest and comes across the same thing again. Another tree with an arrow dead center in the bull's eye! This scene of a tree with an arrow dead center in the bull's eye repeats itself over and over as he continues his walk through the forest. He becomes taken by this impossible site of every tree with an arrow perfectly dead center in the bull's eye and seeks the individual who is shooting these arrows. Eventually he comes across a man with a bow and an arrow quiver and asks the man: "Are you the man who is shooting these arrows"? The man says "yes". He then says: "I am amazed, how do you do that?" The man answers; "It is easy. You see I first shoot my arrow into the tree and then draw the target around it". This simple story paints the picture as to how Christianity basically has approached the Hebrew Scriptures and the Jewish Bible. The belief that Jesus was the Messiah is the starting point for these New Testament writers. Understand I have no problem with anyone in that day who hoped for the appearance of the Jewish messiah or even today for that matter. Desperate times inspire hope and messianic fever was everywhere in the first century. The great need of the Jewish people in that day was deliverance from Rome and their oppressions. But the corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures and the Holy Word of God in producing a document to espouse one's sect's religious beliefs in a cosmic-Godman as did both the Essenes and Rome is not only a crime against God but Divine Truth itself and blurs the truth about the real messiah promised to the Jewish people by God.
We must make a point right now in order to not confuse the reader. The Essenes corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures was not, I said not, to predict or prophesy "Jesus," rather they were promoting a solar concept familiar to all Gentile Sun-worshipping nations. That concept was of an Angel-Messiah of sorts which originally was nothing more than the personification of the Sun, Heaven, Stars, and later Nature. The Sun was the visible representation of the Invisible Cosmic Life-Energy whom we call God which as visibly symbolized to mankind by the Sun of our Solar System. However over time such allegory and metaphor of the "Cosmic Life-Giver" becomes mistakenly "literalized" and some 100 years after such forgery of the Hebrew texts by these Essenes they applied such "literalized theologies" to their historical Teacher Of Righteousness. This Teacher of Righteousness was for the Essenes a mediator figure. He is a priestly leader of a community; in this role he is seen to suffer, perhaps to face death. His interpretation of scripture is definitive for his community and may perhaps be understood as his legacy. There are a number of similarities between the earthly roles of Jesus and the Teacher, interpretation of Scripture, the establishment of a law which is the means of salvation; both suffer. After death the followers of both require further guidance. There are also differences, the Teacher does not appear to be worshipped, his community does not continue and expand after his death. It is possible that the Teacher of Righteousness could be understood as a stage in the development of thought that led to the worship of an individual. The Teacher reveals the prophetic mysteries - of which Jesus is later interpreted in the past-tense to have been the supposed fulfillment although not recognized in his day by such awareness.
Then after the death of the Teacher of Righteousness and hoped return and again almost one hundred years later again such "literalized theologies" were applied in the second century to the "invisible one" whom we recognize and the Jesus of our New Testaments. This "Jesus" was for them the hoped for returned "slain" Essene Teacher of Righteousness who passed among them unrecognized. The only major problem is that if he had come all of Israel had "missed him"; Israel being unworthy of her King and messiah. The prophecy of Daniel and the 70 Weeks had come and gone, the time for the unveiling of the Messiah had come and gone and no Messiah had shown up and the prophecies remained unfilled following 70 A.D. and Rome was still the plague of Israel. Evidently, the Essenes reasoned, he had come and walked among them and was never unveiled since Israel had been unworthy. They reasoned that Israel had "missed the day of their visitation". This explains what we find later in the Christian teachings of the "Messianic Secret" which we find in the Gospel of Mark. The Messianic Secret is a phrase that refers to Jesus having commanded his followers not to reveal to others that he is the Messiah in certain passages of the New Testament, notably in the Gospel of Mark. New Testament scholars, starting notably with Wilhelm Wrede's groundbreaking research published in The Messianic Secret in the Gospels (1901), have made various attempts to explain why this should be so. Wilhelm Wrede (also known as William Wrede) proposed that the secrecy theme was not original to Jesus's ministry, but rather it was a theological addition added by the writer of the Gospel of Mark. Wrede's argument, still influential today in religious studies, states that the Gospel of Mark had to come up with a convincing explanation for why Jesus did not seem like a messiah during the course of his life (as well as why the true Messianic Prophecies were never fulfilled as Judaism maintained). By emphasizing secrecy in his gospel, Mark could simultaneously claim that Jesus was the messiah and that nobody knew it until after he had died, and that his messiahship was revealed only through his supposed resurrection. Now if you don't know Hebrew and only read Greek then any Greek "New Testament" full of purposefully misquoted Hebrew Scriptures intent on making one, this Jesus, the "fulfiller of Prophecy" as the Jewish Messiah, would be an easy sell in light of damnation and hell reserved for those who refuse to "accept the Roman view of Jesus". It worked like a charm and the Roman Church built an empire upon it. All the while Judaism maintained that no such Jesus ever fulfilled any of the Messianic prophecies and maintains the same today. But a Bible full of forged Hebrew Scriptures which "thus being fulfilled" is placed adjacent to them does not make one see the need for such study; he sees only what he reads regardless of the fact that what he reads is not true. But much effort must be expended to see such falsification and few know to even do this or will invest the energy and time it takes to see the truth for themselves.
Next it is important to understand, and time and space does not permit here to do it, but the writers of the Gospels as we have them today are not Jews; if anything Jewish oral traditions are later again redacted and the documents in the New Testament are the creations of Gentile Church Fathers over hundreds of years. Again I don't expect you to believe this in light of the "traditions" we hear in church but honest scholarship over time prove this beyond any doubt to the investigating student. Next, these writers of the New Testament "Jesus story" must prove their "religious belief connected to the Jesus figure" by going back in the Greek Old Testament which was already corrupted and this they did. Understand these Gentile writers and redactors of the New Testament were either former or present Sun-worshippers as well. Just look at Constantine in the 4th century which espoused Sun-worship along with Christianity and sixty years after the Council of Nicea which was under his control will we have the formal acceptance of the Roman New Testament and the order for 50 Bibles to be produced under the watchful care of Constantine. The influence of such forces and their corruptions of the true texts are undeniable when you compare the New Testament texts with the true passages in the Hebrew Bible. Do it please!
It was easy to search the Greek Bible, already corrupted as you know, for solar/Astro-theological concepts about this Godman and apply it to Jesus who was made God by Rome at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. They only had to search the Greek Bible to find proof-texts for their beliefs that could be remotely associated with the idea of the "Cosmic God-man" and record such in the ever growing New Testament and out comes "fulfilled prophecy." Thus working backwards, if you will! The Christian/Hebrew-Christian will boast that there are hundreds of passages in the Old Testament (as they call it) which prove that Jesus was the messiah. Events in one's life is then either "created" or read back into these "religious Hebrew texts" or "twisted to make it fit" in order to make connections in one way or another to make it seem if these events in one' life were "fulfilled" prophecy. This could be done to anyone not just Jesus. Since we are working backwards of sort then anyone could be make it look as if they and their lives were fulfillments of earlier Biblical statements with just a little textual creativity and that is what we find when we take time to look closely. It is relatively easy to make something look like a prophecy but very hard to take known Biblical Prophecy and make it appear to fit a later individual unless the events surrounding his life were later "created" again to fit; a reverse of what we said before. One only need to take an event in the life of an individual or create one and then tie it to something said by Moses, the Prophets, or others and arrange the verse "creatively" to make it seem if they were talking about such an individual. This has been done and it passed off as "Messianic prophecy" when it fact it is not!
The test that you can perform regarding Christians claims that certain chapters in the Old Testament are speaking about the messiah (Messianic prophecy), is to make believe that you are reading this chapter an hour or a hundred years before the birth of of the New Testament Jesus. Then ask yourself, "what about the chapter would let you know that it is referring to the Messiah?"
To take it one step further, what about the chapter lets you know that it is speaking about THE MESSIAH JESUS? Answer- Nothing! You see if we refer again to The Archer and the Arrow.
Christianity/Hebrew-Christians have shot the arrow (riding on the arrow is already the belief that Jesus is the messiah). Therefore anything they come across in their corrupted Old Testaments that seems to back up their belief is used. However when the passages are examined in the proper Hebrew Bible context one sees that they do not back up the Christian/Hebrew-Christian claims as I will show in the following articles beyond any doubt!
Understand that I believe and hope with the Jewish nation that their "messiah" might yet come but what I know that you have yet to come to terms with most likely is that thetrue Messianic Hebrew Prophecies in the Hebrew Bible that remain unaltered today simply have not happened nor been fulfilled....by anyone! This was the "mark" so to speak to identify the anointed of HaShem and His messiah. In the absence of the failure of the uncorrupted Hebrew Scriptures being fulfilled then we must wait like the Jews before identifying "THE" messiah. So the Jewish nation waits and we must as well. But to corrupt these Hebrew Scriptures and adulterate the Jewish Bible in order to put forth one's own brand of religious agenda or theological belief in founding a "replacement religion" is a travesty and brings the curse of God.
The time for the Jewish messiah to appear according to Daniel, chapter 9, has come and gone.
But what I take great aversion to, and you should as well, is the corruption of the Hebrew Scriptures in the "selling" of Jesus to the world as "THE" Messiah when in fact we cannot say this since using for such a belief is a bunch of purposefully mistranslated and corrupted messianic prophecies! We at Bet Emet have devoted a whole website to these messianic problems as they exist cleverly concealed in our Christian Bibles and when the time is right then this is a study that all Christians need to undertake.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN THESE FOLLOWING ARTICLES REVEALING THE FALSIFICATION OF OUR CHRISTIAN BIBLES
The following are various ways in which the Christian Bible has been so badly misrepresented when compared to the Hebrew Scriptures:
The men who gave us these corrupted Greek Scriptures and the legacy that it produced; namely further corruptions in the English Old Testaments and New Testaments by the hands of Rome, succeeded more than they ever knew in destroying Divine Spiritual truth intended for the world. Unknown to the reader at this point most likely is the fact that these Essenes who began such a corruption of the Hebrew Bible when they translated it into Greek did so in order to write in among the passages their own version of their Messiah which has more in common with a "literalized" Godman than the human messiah from the loins of King David! Basically, being in Alexandria, Egypt, they were infusing "Osiris" with the expected and hoped for Hebrew human messiah. Instead of being a human Messiah he was for the Essenes an Angel-Messiah; a Cosmic Godman that finds it's origin in the Osiris "pattern" of Egypt. What was pure Spiritual Allegory and Metaphysical to the core becomes "literal" and "historical" first at the hands of the Essenes in the Book of Enoch and later further evolved at the hands of Rome. Remember that Egypt is where these Essenes lived and translated these Hebrew Scriptures and one would expect the find the "Osiris" influence and we do; but what we don't know as Christians is that what was purely Metaphysical in ancient Egypt becomes "literal" and "historical" on the pages of our Bibles. The Solar/Astral concepts of the ancients which were understood originally as allegory and metaphor became under the the influence of these Essenes "literal" and such concepts were first applied to their crucified Teacher Of Righteousness and later to the "missed messiah" who is termed Jesus some 150 years later. At the same time the normal conservative Jews looked to God for their anointed human leader to arise that would fulfill the long awaited Hebrew Scriptures. These Hebrew Scriptures were not fulfilled by Jesus or anyone else so the Jewish people await their deliverer. After the Jewish war with Rome in 70 A.D. and especially after the failed Bar Cochba revolt of 135 A.D. it was needful to continue to keep alive the hope of the people that the one thought by them to be their hoped for "deliverer" and "messiah", would yet come to deliver and save Israel from Rome. The time had come and gone and no messiah appeared and has not now for over 2,000 years. Instead of trying to understand why the Messianic Kingdom did not come and why the King of the Jews and hoped-for deliverer was not revealed to Israel, literary efforts like proof-texting, were used by Rome to focus mankind's attention away from Jerusalem to Rome. Salvation was no longer "of the Jews" but rather "Rome". Through the use of proof-texting and corruption of these Greek translations of the Hebrew Scriptures by the Essenes we find Rome later taking up where the Essenes left off and in so doing making themselves the vehicle for man's salvation through their corrupt versions of the "Jewish messiah". But to the uneducated Christian reader who is unacquainted with the Bible a Jew like Jesus would have used in the first century and its corruption and gross mistranslation today as it stands in our Christian Bibles then his only option today is to read his corrupted English Bible never knowing that what he is reading is forgery of the true Hebrew Scriptures.
We have a lot to "unlearn" and "learn anew". In time once you see the Bible is a book not about one person but about you, a Metaphysical treatise of sorts, describing the evolution of Divinity within man, the evolving Christ mind in you and me, then you will be able to see not only the truth about the personifications of Osiris and Jesus, but the symbols that they represent regarding your Soul and its evolving Spiritual perfection on this Earthly plane of existence. But to get there we have to deal with this "literalism" of our Bibles first and a good place to start is the truth about "fulfilled messianic prophecy" as related to the Jesus of the New Testament. Only by exposing such mistakes can our eyes be opened to higher Spiritual Truth.
